Ijen & Bromo

Your adventure exploring Bromo and Ijen begins at 09:00 AM. Our driver will pick you up from Juanda International Airport or your hotel in Surabaya before departing for Banyuwangi, where your accommodation near Ijen Crater is located.

The journey takes approximately 6–7 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Along the way, you will travel through urban areas, follow the main highway, pass traditional villages, and enjoy views of the expansive Baluran Forest.

Upon reaching Banyuwangi, check in to your accommodation and take some time to unwind after the long drive. Enjoy the hotel facilities and get sufficient rest before the midnight hiking excursion to Mount Ijen.

Our Ijen Crater excursion begins at approximately 00:00 AM. We will leave the hotel and drive to Paltuding Base Camp, the main starting point for the Mount Ijen trek, situated at an elevation of around 1,800 metres. The drive takes approximately one hour, passing through local villages, rice fields, and forested landscapes filled with towering trees.

Upon arrival at Paltuding, you can enjoy a warm drink while our guide provides an overview of the hiking route and essential safety instructions. At around 02:00 AM, we will begin the ascent towards the summit area of Mount Ijen.

The uphill trail covers approximately 3 kilometres and generally takes 1.5–2 hours, depending on your fitness level and walking pace. Along the route, there are six checkpoints, with small stalls and toilet facilities available at most stops.

After reaching the upper section of the mountain, at approximately 2,386 metres above sea level, we will continue towards the crater rim. If you wish to witness the famous Blue Fire, the route requires an additional descent of approximately 800 metres along steep, rocky, and slippery terrain. Reaching the crater floor takes around 30–45 minutes.

The Blue Fire is a fascinating natural phenomenon created by ignited sulphuric gases. If weather conditions and official access restrictions permit, you will have the opportunity to observe this extraordinary sight and capture some memorable photographs.

Important note: If you feel unable to descend to the Blue Fire area due to physical limitations, you can skip this section and head directly towards the sunrise viewpoint.

After exploring the Blue Fire area, we will climb back up the same trail and continue towards the sunrise point. The walk usually takes approximately 30 minutes to one hour, depending on your pace. From the viewpoint, enjoy the magnificent panorama of Ijen Crater and take photographs of the surrounding volcanic landscape.

At around 07:00 AM, we will descend to Paltuding Base Camp before returning to the accommodation for breakfast and time to freshen up.

At approximately 12:00 PM, we will check out and continue our journey to Sukapura, Probolinggo, where your accommodation in the Mount Bromo area is located. The drive takes around 5–6 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.

Upon arrival, check in and enjoy the refreshing mountain atmosphere. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and recharge before the early-morning Mount Bromo sunrise excursion.

The final day begins at approximately 03:30 AM, when our 4WD jeep picks you up from your accommodation for the Mount Bromo sunrise experience.

We will travel to the area's famous viewpoints, including Penanjakan and Kingkong Hill, located along the edge of the Tengger Caldera at an elevation of approximately 2,700 metres. These viewpoints offer impressive panoramic scenery, where you can watch the sunrise above Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru.

After sunrise, we will continue the adventure across the vast Sea of Sand surrounding Mount Bromo. From the jeep parking area, you can choose to walk or take an optional horse ride towards the staircase leading to the crater rim.

At approximately 08:30 AM, we will return to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, packing, and check-out. Once everything is ready, we will depart for Surabaya.

The drive to Surabaya takes approximately 3–4 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Upon arrival, your three-day journey through Ijen Crater and Mount Bromo comes to an end.
