Itinerary

Day 1

Surabaya to Mount Bromo – Overnight Stay in the Bromo Area

Your Bromo, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, and Ijen adventure begins at 09:00 AM. Our team will meet you at Juanda International Airport or your hotel in Surabaya before departing for Sukapura, Probolinggo, where your accommodation in the Bromo area is located.

The drive takes approximately 3–4 hours, depending on traffic. Along the way, you will pass through urban areas and enjoy views of the surrounding landscapes as we make our way towards the mountains.

Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and refreshing mountain air. You will have the rest of the day to relax and prepare for the early-morning Mount Bromo sunrise excursion.

Optional activity: You may also visit Madakaripura Waterfall before checking in to your accommodation. The waterfall is located near the Bromo area, making it a convenient additional stop. Additional charges apply.

Day 2

Mount Bromo Sunrise Adventure – Transfer to Tumpak Sewu Area

The day begins at approximately 03:30 AM, when our 4WD jeep picks you up from your accommodation for the Mount Bromo sunrise experience.

We will drive to some of the most famous viewpoints around the Tengger Caldera, including Penanjakan and Kingkong Hill, located at approximately 2,700 metres above sea level. From these elevated spots, you can watch the sunrise while enjoying spectacular views of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru.

After sunrise, we will continue across the vast Sea of Sand surrounding Mount Bromo. From the jeep parking area, you can either walk or choose an optional horse ride to reach the staircase leading to the crater rim.

At around 08:30 AM, we will return to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, packing, and check-out. Afterwards, we will continue the journey to your accommodation near Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, which takes approximately 4–5 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

During the transfer, you will pass through towns, green forested areas, and striking natural cliffs. Once you arrive at your accommodation, check in and take some time to rest before the Tumpak Sewu trekking adventure the next morning.

Day 3

Tumpak Sewu Waterfall Trekking – Transfer to Banyuwangi

After breakfast, we will begin exploring Tumpak Sewu Waterfall at approximately 07:00 AM. Our first stop will be the panoramic viewpoint, where you can admire the magnificent waterfall from above and take photographs of its impressive surroundings.

We will then continue the trek towards the waterfall's base, following the river and descending along the hillside trail. The walk takes approximately one hour. Along the way, you will encounter several beautiful spots, including Tetes Cave and Blue Lake, which offer additional opportunities to enjoy the scenery and capture memorable pictures.

Upon reaching Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, spend some time appreciating the dramatic cascades and towering cliffs that make this destination one of East Java's most remarkable natural attractions.

After the exploration, we will return to the accommodation, where you can freshen up and have lunch (at your own expense).

Following lunch, we will depart for Banyuwangi, where your next overnight accommodation is located. The journey will take you through different landscapes as we travel towards East Java's eastern region.

After checking in, take the opportunity to relax and get some rest, as the journey to Ijen Crater will begin around midnight.

Day 4

Ijen Crater Midnight Hike – Transfer to Bali

Our final excursion begins at approximately 00:00 AM, when we leave the hotel and head towards Paltuding Base Camp, the starting point for the Mount Ijen hike. Located at around 1,800 metres above sea level, Paltuding can be reached in approximately one hour from your accommodation.

Along the way, you will pass through traditional villages, rice fields, and forested mountain scenery. Upon arrival at the base camp, enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea while our guide explains the hiking route and provides essential safety instructions.

At approximately 02:00 AM, we will begin the ascent towards Ijen Crater. The trail covers around 3 kilometres and generally takes 1.5–2 hours, depending on your physical condition and walking speed. There are six checkpoints along the route, with small stalls and toilet facilities available at most stops.

Once we reach the upper section of Mount Ijen, at approximately 2,386 metres above sea level, we will continue towards the crater rim. For those wishing to witness the famous blue fire, the route involves descending approximately 800 metres over steep, rocky, and slippery terrain. This descent takes around 30–45 minutes.

The blue fire is an extraordinary natural phenomenon caused by burning sulphuric gases and is one of Ijen's most distinctive attractions. If weather and safety conditions permit access, you will have the opportunity to see this rare spectacle and take photographs.

Important note: If you feel unable to make the descent to the blue fire area, you can skip this section and proceed directly towards the sunrise viewpoint.

After exploring the blue fire area, we will climb back up the same trail and continue to the sunrise point. The journey usually takes around 30 minutes to one hour, depending on your pace. At the viewpoint, enjoy the panoramic scenery of Ijen Crater and take photos of the surrounding volcanic landscape.

At approximately 07:00 AM, we will descend to Paltuding Base Camp and return to your accommodation for breakfast and time to freshen up.

Later in the day, we will transfer you to Ketapang Harbour in Banyuwangi, where you will board the ferry across the Bali Strait to Gilimanuk Harbour.

After arriving in Bali, our team will take you to your accommodation in your selected area, marking the end of your four-day adventure.

Note: Estimated travel times from Gilimanuk Harbour to your accommodation in Bali are approximately 4–5 hours for Ubud, Sanur, Kuta, Legian, and Denpasar; around 30 minutes for Pemuteran; and approximately 2 hours for Lovina.
