Day 1

Surabaya to Mount Bromo – Overnight Stay in the Bromo Area

Your Bromo and Ijen adventure begins at 09:00 AM. Our driver will meet you at the airport or your hotel in Surabaya before taking you to Sukapura, Probolinggo, where your accommodation in the Bromo area is located.

The journey takes approximately 3–4 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Along the way, you will pass through urban areas and travel along the main highway towards the mountainous region of East Java.

Upon arrival at your accommodation, check in and enjoy the cool, refreshing atmosphere of the Bromo highlands. You will have time to relax and settle in before the early-morning Mount Bromo sunrise excursion the following day.

Optional stop: If you would like to explore another natural attraction, you can visit Madakaripura Waterfall before heading to your hotel. The waterfall is located near the Bromo area, and an additional fee applies.

Day 2

Mount Bromo Sunrise Tour – Transfer to Banyuwangi

The day starts at approximately 03:30 AM, when our 4WD jeep picks you up from your hotel for the Mount Bromo sunrise adventure.

We will head to the famous viewpoints of Penanjakan and Kingkong Hill, situated along the edge of the Tengger Caldera at an elevation of approximately 2,700 metres. From these viewpoints, you can enjoy the sunrise and sweeping views of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru.

After sunrise, we will continue across the iconic Sea of Sand surrounding Mount Bromo. From the jeep parking area, you can choose to walk or take an optional horse ride to reach the staircase leading to the crater rim.

At around 08:30 AM, we will return to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, packing, and check-out.

After completing the morning activities, we will depart for Banyuwangi, where your accommodation near Ijen Crater is located. The drive takes approximately five hours, depending on traffic conditions. During the journey, you will pass through local towns and enjoy views of terraced rice fields and the surrounding countryside.

Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and take some time to unwind after the journey. An early rest is recommended, as the Ijen Crater excursion begins around midnight.

Day 3

Ijen Crater Midnight Hike – Return to Bali

Our Ijen adventure begins at approximately 00:00 AM. We will leave the hotel and drive to Paltuding Base Camp, the starting point of the Mount Ijen hike, located at around 1,800 metres above sea level. The drive takes approximately one hour, passing through traditional villages, rice fields, and forested areas with towering trees.

Upon reaching Paltuding, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while our guide explains the hiking route and provides important safety instructions. At approximately 02:00 AM, we will begin the ascent towards Ijen Crater.

The uphill trail covers around 3 kilometres and generally takes 1.5–2 hours, depending on your fitness level and walking pace. There are six checkpoints along the route, with small stalls and toilet facilities available at most stops.

After reaching the upper section of Mount Ijen, at approximately 2,386 metres above sea level, we will continue towards the crater rim. For those wishing to see the famous Blue Fire, the route involves descending approximately 800 metres along steep, rocky, and slippery terrain. This section takes around 30–45 minutes to complete.

The Blue Fire is a remarkable natural phenomenon created by ignited sulphuric gases. If access is permitted and conditions are suitable, you will have the opportunity to witness this extraordinary sight and take photographs.

Important note: If you are unable to make the descent to the Blue Fire area due to physical limitations, you can skip this section and proceed directly to the sunrise viewpoint.

After visiting the Blue Fire area, we will climb back up the same trail and continue towards the sunrise point. The walk usually takes around 30 minutes to one hour, depending on your pace. From the viewpoint, enjoy the panoramic scenery of Ijen Crater and capture memorable photos of the surrounding volcanic landscape.

At approximately 07:00 AM, we will descend to Paltuding Base Camp before returning to your accommodation for breakfast and time to freshen up.

Later in the day, we will transfer you to Ketapang Harbour in Banyuwangi, where you will board a ferry across the Bali Strait to Gilimanuk Harbour.

Upon arrival in Bali, our driver will take you to your hotel in your selected area, bringing your three-day adventure to an end.

Estimated transfer time from Gilimanuk Harbour: Approximately 4–5 hours to Ubud, Sanur, Kuta, Legian, and Denpasar; around 30 minutes to Pemuteran; and approximately 2 hours to Lovina.
