Itinerary

Day 1

Bali to Mount Bromo – Overnight Stay in the Bromo Area

Your Bromo and Ijen adventure begins at 09:00 AM Bali time. Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Bali and take you to Gilimanuk Harbour. The drive usually takes around 4–5 hours, depending on your pickup location.

Upon reaching Gilimanuk Harbour, you will board a ferry to Ketapang Harbour in East Java. The crossing takes approximately one hour. After arriving in Banyuwangi, we will continue by car to the Bromo area, with accommodation arranged in Sukapura or Cemoro Lawang. This overland journey takes approximately 6–7 hours.

During the trip, we may stop at a local restaurant for lunch or dinner, depending on the schedule (meals are at your own expense). Once we arrive at your accommodation, check in and enjoy the refreshing mountain air. Spend the evening relaxing and getting enough rest before the Mount Bromo sunrise excursion the following morning.

Travel time to Gilimanuk Harbour: Approximately 4–5 hours from Ubud, Sanur, Kuta, Legian, and Denpasar; around 30 minutes from Pemuteran; and approximately 2 hours from Lovina.

Day 2

Mount Bromo Sunrise Experience – Transfer to Banyuwangi

The Mount Bromo excursion starts at approximately 03:00 AM, when our 4WD jeep collects you from your accommodation. We will head towards one of the area's famous sunrise viewpoints, either Penanjakan or Kingkong Hill, located along the rim of the Tengger Caldera at an elevation of around 2,700 metres.

From the viewpoint, you can watch the sunrise while enjoying panoramic views of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, and Mount Semeru. After sunrise, we will continue the adventure across the vast Sea of Sand surrounding Mount Bromo.

From the jeep parking area, you can choose to walk or take an optional horse ride towards the staircase leading to the crater rim.

At around 08:30 AM, we will return to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, packing, and check-out. After completing the morning activities, we will depart for Banyuwangi. The drive takes approximately 5–6 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

Along the way, you will pass through traditional villages, forested landscapes, rice fields, and the beautiful countryside of East Java. Upon arrival in Banyuwangi, check in to your accommodation and take some time to relax. An early rest is recommended to prepare for the midnight hike to Ijen Crater.

Day 3

Ijen Crater Midnight Adventure – Return to Bali

Our final excursion begins at approximately 00:00 AM, when we leave the hotel and travel to Paltuding Base Camp, the starting point of the Mount Ijen hike, situated at around 1,800 metres above sea level. The drive takes approximately one hour.

Upon arrival at Paltuding, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while our team provides a briefing about the hiking route and safety precautions. At approximately 02:00 AM, we will begin the ascent towards Ijen Crater.

The uphill trek covers approximately 3 kilometres and generally takes 1.5–2 hours, depending on your physical condition and walking pace. Once we reach the crater rim, those who wish to see the famous Blue Fire can continue down towards the crater floor. This descent takes around 30–45 minutes and involves steep, rocky, and potentially slippery terrain.

If access and weather conditions permit, you will have the opportunity to witness Ijen's remarkable Blue Fire phenomenon, a rare natural spectacle found in very few places worldwide. After exploring the area, we will make our way back up to the crater rim to enjoy the sunrise and the surrounding volcanic scenery.

Important note: The descent to the Blue Fire area requires additional physical effort and is subject to official access and safety conditions. If you are unable to make the descent, you can remain on the upper trail and proceed towards the sunrise viewpoint.

After sunrise, we will descend to Paltuding Base Camp and return to the hotel for breakfast, a shower, and check-out.

We will then transfer you to Ketapang Harbour, where you will board a ferry across the Bali Strait to Gilimanuk Harbour. Once you arrive in Bali, our driver will take you back to your hotel in your selected area. The transfer time from Gilimanuk to your accommodation depends on your destination and traffic conditions.

Estimated travel time from Gilimanuk Harbour to your hotel: Approximately 4–5 hours for Ubud, Sanur, Kuta, Legian, and Denpasar; around 30 minutes for Pemuteran; and approximately 2 hours for Lovina.

Your Bromo and Ijen tour officially concludes upon arrival at your hotel in Bali.
